Did you know that Muslims are the fastest-growing religious group in the world?

As of 2020, the global Muslim population exceeds 1.9 billion, a figure largely attributed to higher birth rates in Muslim-majority countries. Over the next four decades, Islam is projected to experience faster growth than any other major religion. If current trends persist, by 2050, the number of Muslims worldwide will nearly match the number of Christians.

However, many individuals lack an understanding of Islam.

Islam remains one of the most misunderstood religions, both in contemporary times and throughout history. This website was created to address the misconceptions surrounding Islam. While accessible to all, it is particularly tailored for educators seeking a deeper understanding of their Muslim students. Click below to discover the inspiration behind its creation.

  • It all begins with an idea

As a Muslim American student, expressing my religious identity has often been a challenge. Although I don’t wear a hijab, my faith is a core part of who I am, and yet, I’ve frequently faced misunderstanding and scrutiny because of it. In my freshman year, I was called out for “skipping” class simply for stepping out during study hall to perform my midday prayers. The misconceptions didn’t stop there. In sophomore year, a teacher questioned the timing of Eid al-Fitr when I expressed concern about a test scheduled on the holiday. Junior year brought major assessments due the day after Eid, and now, in my senior year, I’ve been met with little flexibility during Ramadan. These experiences have made it clear that bias and Islamophobia still exist in educational spaces. In response, I created this website to empower educators with the knowledge and tools to better support Muslim students. By offering accessible, accurate information, my goal is to dispel harmful stereotypes and help foster a more inclusive classroom environment, one where students like me feel seen, respected, and proud of our religious identity.
